Pokémon UNITE


A new patch (1.2.1.8) has hit Pokémon UNITE October 20th to coincide with the launch of the Halloween Festival. The update also unlocks the ability to watch your friends’ games in real time!

The Halloween Festival runs from October 20 to November 7, 2021. Logging in and completing missions will reward you with Pumpkins which can then be used to unlock special Halloween-themed items.

  • Greedent License (70 Pumpkins)

  • 1-Day Battle Point Boost Card (1 Pumpkin)

  • Pumpkin Box, which may contain more Pumpkins (2 Pumpkins)

  • Halloween-themed Profile Frame (5 Pumpkins)

  • Pumpkin Profile Sticker (5 Pumpkin)

  • Halloween-themed Profile Background (10 Pumpkins)

  • Halloween-themed corpse silouhette sticker (20 Pumpkins)

  • Pointed Hat (50 Pumpkins) Also available in the Shop

Additional missions will be available starting October 24 to November 2 allowing Trainers to collect even MORE PUMPKINS.


New Holowear

Two new Holowears have been made available, and some Pokémon have even received their very first Holowear through this event.

  • Space Style Zeraora - 60 Aeos Gems Discounted price ends October 25 - Normally 400 Aeos Gems (no additional visual enhancement)

  • Costume Party Style Lucario - 2,499 Aeos Gems (includes UNITE Move, Scoring, Returning, K.O. and Movement animation)


Three additional Holowears have also been teased in the Halloween Festival announcement video (see teaser video above), yet not released.

  • Space Style Eldegoss

  • Wigglytuff Holowear


New Licenses

Greedent has been released in the game, as of October 20th. The Melee Defender is available from the Shop for 8,000 Aeos Coins or 450 Aeos Gems.

In addition to Greedent, an upcoming License, the infamous Decidueye, has been teased via the thumbnail of the Halloween festivities trailer announcement (see below). You may have to zoom in on the carved pumpkin to notice that Rowlet has been carved in! The Pokémon Company has not responded to our inquiry, so there sadly is no further details at the time being. Stay posted.


New Halloween-themed items

Many, MANY new Halloween-themed items have been unveiled.

  • A new Bulbasaur set is now available through Energy Rewards

Buffs and Nerfs

Pikachu is getting a considerable buff, along with Slowbro, Garchomp, and Gengar. Lucario, on the other hand, has been considerably nerfed (understandably) along with Blastoise and Venusaur.

Halloween-themed Game mode

Halloween Night in Mer Stadium. Replaces Battle Items with Pumpkins that can be used to throw at your opponent's Pokémon.


Pokémon GO

Pokémon TCG


The Pokémon Company released a special trailer to commemorate Pokémon Trading Card Game's 25th anniversary. They also announced the new feature/mechanic coming for TCG: Pokémon VSTAR.


Pokémon VSTAR act like Pokémon VMAX in that they need to be played on a Pokémon V but have a VSTAR Power which can only be used once per game.



Otherwise, not much going on in the Trading Card Game realm, other than a friendly reminder that the Sword & Shield—Fusion Strike Expansion will launch November 12, 2021 (mark your calendars). Click here for more details..


Pokémon Sword/Shield


Distribution of Shiny Zacian and Shiny Zamazenta has been confirmed for the US and Canada through GameStop Stores, as well as for the UK through GAME as follows, no purchase required (aside from the game itself, of course).

Pokémon Legends: Arceus


The Pokémon Company released some rare footage of the Hisui region. The footage was reportedly found in the depths of the Canalave Library and asks trainers to investigate. The footage confirms the existence of Snorunt in the Hisui region, but mainly documents the landscapre of the region.


Pokémon Legends: Arceus is available for pre-order, releasing January 28, 2022.

Play! Pokémon

The Pokémon Company International announced today that highly anticipated Play! Pokémon Regional and International Championships will resume in North America and Europe, with the first events slated to kick off in March 2022.


Four different Pokémon products are to be included: the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Pokémon video games, Pokkén Tournament DX, and for the first time, Pokémon GO in partnership with Niantic. More information on the competitive scene in Pokémon Ge can be found here.
