Pokémon UNITE: First Offical Tournament (details)

The first official online tournament for Pokémon UNITE will be held on September 19th, 2021.
The tournament will take place over a single day, with up to 256 teams, easily playable from home.
This tournament is officially sponsored by The Pokémon Company.
This likely is the company’s first attempt at seeing if the game has potential for eSports.
When can you enter?
September 3rd - September 13th

What is the format?
Single match eliminations. One game per round, until the semi-final rounds, where two matches will take place (winners determined by the best overall scores).
256 teams will participate. If more than 256 teams enter, the participating teams will be determined by lottery.
Who can participate?
Must be over 16 years old. If under the age of 20, a guardian must provide consent to participate.
Teams of 5-7 players.
Although nothing specifically indicates that this is limited to Japan, it wouldn’t be surprising if it ended up being. Enter at your own risks. Must understand Japanese as all communications will be in Japanese.
