Celebrate the New Year in style with the Pokémon GO New Years 2022 Event! Fashionably costumed Pokémon, special bonuses, in-game fireworks, and more will be coming to help Trainers ring in the New Year right! Slowpoke may be a little late to the party in those 2020 Glasses, but the debut of shiny New Year’s Hat Hoothoot is worth staying up late for!

Many new and returning costumed Pokémon will be available to encounter in the wild, as Field Research rewards, in Raids, and hatching from 7km Eggs. With the introduction of shiny New Year’s Hat Hoothoot, shiny Hoothoot without a costume will be available after the event ends!

Timed Research will be available under the "Today" view, and will feature various costumed Pokémon appearing during this event.

New avatar items for purchase in the in-game shop will include: 2022 Glasses, New Year’s Headband, New Year’s Jacket Set, New Year’s Pants, New Year’s Shoes
