Pokémon GO: Mega Moment Event
The system for Mega Pokémon in Pokémon GO has received an update. This update has been live in Australia and New Zealand already, but is available worldwide, starting now! To celebrate this newest update, a new Special Research story, event, and Mega Raid boss will be available.

Special Research
Get to try out the newest Mega Evolution features yourself with a new Special Research that will be available for all Trainers level 5 and up. This Special Research will branch out into three different branches, featuring Venusaur, Charizard or Blastoise.
A Mega Moment Event
📅 Friday, April 29, 10:00 a.m. → Sunday, May 1, 08:00 p.m. (local time)
For the first time in Pokémon GO, Mega Kangaskhan will appear in Mega Raids!
Mega Kangaskhan Raid Day
📅 Sunday, May 1, 11:00 a.m. → 02:00 p.m. (local time)
Mega Kangaskhan will be appearing more frequently in Mega Raids during the event window. To enjoy those raids, you will be able to receive up to five free Raid Passes from spinning the Photo Discs at Gyms. Those Raid Passes will be availble during the event en up to two hours after that.
During the Raid Day, you'll have an increased chance of encountering a Shiny Kangaskhan ✨!

Wild Encounters
In the wild, you will be able to find more Pokémon that have evolutions that can Mega Evolve in Pokémon GO, which are the following Pokémon:
Bulbasaur
Charmander
Squirtle
Slowpoke
Gastly
Mareep
Buneary
Snover
All of those are available as shinies ✨!
Field Research Rewards
During the Mega Moment Event, there will be event-themed Field Research tasks availably be spinning PokéStops. These tasks can reward you with a random reward of Mega Energy for Pokémon capable of Mega Evolution in Pokémon GO.
❗This will not be for Mega Kangaskan; Kangaskhan Mega Energy will only be available through Mega Raids.
Bonuses
Mega-Evolved Pokémon will receive a CP boost.
